Michael Rieger, a good friend of mine, dedicated himself to a very special project in 2013. He committed to take a photograph a day with his iPhone. He then edited and published his Photo A Day, to his social media accounts. It turned out so well he went on to publish a book, “Inspiration Exists”. If you haven’t purchased a copy yet, I highly recommend it.
Recently Michael and I were discussing his project, and he told me that he recommends that every one do the project at least once. I thought about what he said. I even discussed it with my two daughters, Jessie and Lyndee, and my son-in-law, Jake. They encouraged me to do it and even said they’d ride me to make sure I kept the project up. I can’t think of much worse than starting something like this and then quitting. Oh how I hate quitting.
Well, this evening I have decided to take a leap of faith and do it. But with a twist. I’m starting mine tomorrow and will keep it going until the end of the 2015 Baseball season. My focus will be Baseball, but not just the game. I’m going to try and capture the intimacy of the game. By that I mean the things we love about baseball, the character of the game, the life lessons of the game, or anything that explains why Baseball is a part of us.
Another thing I’m going to do differently is my project will be a multi-media project. It will include not only photographs, but also art and some written words. And who knows, if it turns out well and a majority of you like it, maybe I’ll publish a book as well. I hope you find it interesting enough to follow along. And I thank you in advance for the support.
