July 14 ~ 16, 2017, the Slow Food Nations came to Denver, CO. And for 12 local artists, myself included, that meant painting their very own snail. A snail that needed to illustrate and help promote the idea of “Slow Food”. According to Slow Food Nation, “Slow Food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating. It is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the world that links the pleasure of food with a commitment to community and the environment.”
Here’s a collage showing my snail, Griselda, which means the Patient One. She has had quite a run, and it’s not over yet. Don’t be a bit surprised when she starts adding to her story and her shell imagery.
